Obviously not. Let's set the scene. I am driving to drop off my rent listening to the radio I get about half way there and spy and 02-03 GT sedan Dark Blue like MCMs. No tint so I look over and see two younger individuals in the car. HMMM wonder if they want to play around a little. So I pace them for a little and then get over and pass some traffic watching them as a I go. See them change lanes and speed up two lanes over. HEHE come on get a little closer let them get even and drop it and take off a little just so they know I want to play. They get over behind me and there is some traffic. I slow down they get over and go past which I wanted them to do. I get behind them and I see the next lane over is going to open up. They see it and take it and "try" to take off I don't down shift I am in third and floor it pulled hard up into their rear bumper and was fixing to let off. THIS LITTLE BASTARD FUCKING BRAKE CHECKS ME. I slam on the brakes they lock up for a second and I slide a little. Oh damn now I am aggrivated wondering if my bat is in the car. Luckily it wasn't because I think I would have taken his passenger mirror off. I am so sorry that your car is slow. If you want to run with the big dogs in elantra terms don't act like a little b**ch when you get pulled on. I hope you make it over to this board and send me a PM. Get some money from your parents so that you can lose it in a race with me. /rant

sounds like you had sorta like a day I had... I fked up one of my new rims, because who ever designed the streets in downtown was a crack addict... oh and got pulled over and scared the cop so bad she didn't even take my license (which was suspended still)

i have never had that happen with attempting to race somebody...everybody around here either gets over and submits....or its on....but no brake check....i would be pissed too! i've met some real ass tib owners....i think that i'm one of a handful of hyundai owners in my town that actually take it seriously.....

Playing around on the streets is fine, but for the most part you aren't going to find a serious, mature, adult driver who knows what he/she is doing by playing stupid games in traffic. If you want to race go to the dragstrip, or the autocross. If you want to get brake-checked tailgate some idiot in his dads car! I'm not one of those self-righteous no street racing assholes but don't act shocked when people respond the way they do. I live in the D.C. area and there just too many cases of "playing around" turning into massive car wrecks.
I probably have the most track time out of any elantra on the site but it is not like I get to race very many elantras at the track. Thus the interest in trying to get in some friendly playing. I wouldn't have done it to a honda/nissan owner but like the title said I thought Elantra owners were cool.slvrsleeper said:

Thats why I figured it was his dads car. No real Hyundai owner would treat a fellow believer that way. At least I never wouild. Hell I have a hard time even finding modded Hyundais around here to look at never mind run heads up against.

Everyone has to be a hard ass. Think about it. After you went to see the 1st Fast and Furious movie. How many of you sat and watched everyone peel ass out of the parking lot driving like a complete tool? How many of you where the ones peeling ass out of the parking lot? Thats your difference in mentality right there. The ones driving like an idiot are the same people that will brake check you. To them everyone is competition not a fellow owner representing his car. Thats my 2 cents anyway.
IT's kind of off topic but there are always hater out on the road. I was driving my friends Subaru STI by the beach this middle aged man driving Saab 93, yelling stuff like " That is loudest Toyota I ever heard!!" ( car has 4 inch downpipe with 3 1/2 turbo back on so it is kind of loud) "get a motor would you?" There isn't anything you can do about dumb people....

I raced a 4cyl tib and for some reason I smoked him (He was trying to) and I only had my intake and exhaust..LoL.

Not all the Tib owners are like that. And Ive seen some really fast Tibs, new and old. They do seem to have a superiority complex though. Its not all their fault, thats the way hyundai wants it too.
