I've been saving up the last few months and I bit the bullet and got the ECU from KDMGuy at his site
www.kdmstuff.com or from his main site www.seoulfulracing.com
REVIEW:
Initial impressions without the dyno is that the car felt faster, smoother and more responsive. The revs went up faster, and the car felt stronger.
Overall I was pleased with the results. However, for the price, I didn't think it's worth it.
Impressions after my dyno and two days of driving:
DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY. **The car was dynoed with a full tank of 94 octane gas**
Although the car feels stronger and smoother than before, I discovered that there is a flaw, Everytime you start the car you have to reset your ecu to get the 7500 rpm promised. NOt that I drive each gear to 7500rpm. Otherwise you be limited to 5400 rpm, seen on the Dyno sheet.
1st and 2nd pull shows engine cutting off at 5400 rpm and the 3rd was after an ecu reset and 7500rpm was hit. When I drove home after the 3rd run, the car was again cutting off at 5400rpm, until I reset it then it beyond it, so it's a pain having to reset you ecu before each start if you want to get a high RPM range.
I will dyno again in the fall to see if long run use will improve these numbers.
