I don't know what everyon's obsession with Pep-Boys is. I don't know how they are elsewhere, but here in Texas they suck some serious ass. None of the people that work there know anything about cars, or anything in general. Almost like the people at Auto Zone. What ever happened to the independently owned auto parts stores like the one that I work at? We are always trying to up the competition by sending our employees to training, such as becoming ASE Certified. I just don't get the devoted following to a corporate conglomorate.

I don't know if you are talking about me, because i get all my non elantra made to fit elantra parts at pepboys...

BUT, I go there simply because a really good friend of mine is the store manager, so i get some prices that you wouldn't believe...

I don't really like or dislike pepboys, the one here in Tamarac is fine, well i guess i'm biased.

I would rather go to an ase cert. parts specialist all day long than some 17 year old civic driving pepboys worker, sure.

oh well, rambling enough

shawn :)

Haha, I posted this once before, but it seems suitable to post it now..

Ok, I went in looking for an Accord CAI. The gentleman asked me what a CAI was; I explained. He promptly told me, no they did not carry those, but they were having a special on their 'NAWWS' kits. I laughed the whole way out. ;)

you will always find a large diff. between large corps and private businesses. pep boys is fine and all, but none of the big corps are really that good. and i do outsmart some of the guys there, and i don't know THAT much about cars as they should..oh well, you'll find this everywhere...from pepboys to home depot to best buy to wherever.

The Pep Boys around me I call Rice-o-roni, pretty much all they sell is LED washer nozzles, chrome wipers, naked lady mud-flaps (I want a set of those LOL) and 10 inch subs surrounded in neon. The Advance Auto on the other hand seems to be staffed by fairly cool knowledgable people its all about location I guess

I do know quite a bit about cars, I've been in the busieness since I was 12 yrs. old, and for some odd reason, I continue to work for peanuts. I guess it has something to do with the fact that I love my job, and wouldn't trade it for any high paying cubical job in the world.
