i would say go with Eibach springs and i think its tibby struts then get some 17inch rim and tire combo. the springs will give a mild drop but keep you good for winter if i'm right tibby struts are a bit stiffer the Elantra struts and tire rim combo will fill the gap.i just don't see coilovers making it to long with that much winter and those who live in that area tend to put cars on coils away for winter.

springs elantra, struts tibby and if i remember right the fronts have to be swapped ( tibby struts are stiffer..lol)

18mm or 19mm will blow the stock one out of the water.
i went from the GT i think is 15mm to the 19mm and wow huge change.
