Man pets cop dog, faces drug charges

ENDICOTT — Endicott police charged Kelly Simpson, 48, of Binghamton, after he petted K-9 Tarah while she was on foot patrol with an officer on Wednesday on Washington Avenue.

Police said K-9 Tarah detected narcotics on Simpson. Following a police interview, he was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Simpson was given an appearance ticket and released, police said.
