The tire is too tall. It will most likely rub on the spring perch and or when you bottom out, there is the chance to rub. Try it and see what happens. Im not sure its been tried but my 225/45/17 rubs quite nicely with my drop.

it would be dropped with eibachs... so if 205 50 are no good then i guess 215 50 is out of question.

so im stuck with 215 45?

I'd say so... yes. I think it has pretty much been established that 215/45-17 is the biggest you can use with stock struts w/o rubbing.
