In the coming months EXD will be upgrading to a new version of the forum software, vBulletin 4. While overall it's still the vB we know and love there will be some changes. vB will now offer an integrated Content Management System (CMS) to make the home page more integrated and easier to manage than the current vBadvanced system that we use. Take a look at some screenshots here:

They look is quite tame and looks even less amazing than the current default look (like we have here at EXD). However through the use of smarter code making customizations should be a lot easier and foolproof (good for me!).

Right now there isn't any release date for vB4 but it should be before the end of the year (probably sometime in November I think).

Back on topic now. The wonderfulness that is vB4.

It also comes with a "blog" type deal that I don't think will get much love here on EXD as most EXDers aren't the super social networking type (from what I've seen).

The vB4 beta is supposed to be out mid November. We are getting closer.
