The first ever Hyundai I saw was neighbor Sonata 2 1996.

I didn't knowed much about Hyundai back then. But I'm quite sure I though its an a expensive car.
Korean cars was really not popular here back in the day. I even remember I was in school in 3 grade and my teacher got Kia Sephia I was like '' Who buy a Kia .. It's a crap car'' .

I'm not entirely sure but I remember being more aware of them around 2004-2005. I remember seeing A LOT of XD 2's around here. I remember them because a lot of people had the chrome tail light covers. I remember I kind of liked them. I just wish I had one at the time. That's when they were becoming really popular.

I'm sure I saw a Hyundai before that but wasn't really aware of it. The only reason 2004 sticks out to me is that is when I was living with my friend Shanna and it was during that time I saw XD2's everywhere. Even some of her friends had them.

Here they never was popular. ppl bought more Nissan Sentra or Mazda 3.
