I thought it might be good if we start a list of different part combinations, and the ground clearance you have as a result of those. Important information is:

Springs; Struts; Tire-Size; Body-Kit or Lip = Clearance between ground and lowest point on front end.

Here's mine:

Eibach Pro-Kit; KYB GR2; 205/40/17; '95 Mercury Mystique Lip = 3-7/8" clearance

(I was going to put a pic here of the tape measure showing the lowest point, but forgot my digicam at home today).

Let's try measuring from these places:
1.) lowest point at the front bumper to the ground (this would normally be the tow hooks, unless you have a front lip or aftermarket bumper)
2.) highest point of the front wheel well to the ground
3.) highest point of the rear wheel well to the ground

Arospeed springs, stock struts, stock wheels and 195/60/r15 tires.I've got 6 1/2 inches of clearance..Too low for parking curbs but hey,It looks good and I have not had many problems with it being this low.

I took my measurements from near the tow hook area.I took pics but you couldnt see the marks on the tape measure..thats what happens when you buy them too small I guess.Im goin to find a better one and then take more pics prob tomorrow.

Well I took the measurements:
1.) at the tow hooks to the ground -- 5 1/4"
2.) front wheel well to the ground -- 24 1/2"
3.) rear wheel well to the ground -- 24 13/16"

I have the following:
- Eibach springs
- KYB GR-2 struts
- 205/50-16 tires

Oh, and there is nothing in the trunk other than the spare tire.

I just lowered mine today and measured the same way as 05xd. Front wheel wells are 25" rear are 23.5" I have the Eibach sportline struts and springs for an 03+ Tib. And the stock 195/60-15's. I noticed something with more measurements also....I have the 04 GT Hatchback, and when i measure the "sides" of the car just behind the front wheel well "where you would place the factory jack" and just in front of the rear wheel well, they measure almost the same.. front 5 3/4 and rear 5 1/2. So I think the rear fender well maybe be cut differently than the front. As an optical illusion that makes the rear look "saggy". Since my back tire is "tucked" and my front tire is not. But they measure only 1/4 difference.

Here's another option for GLS'ers that haveto have the clearance.

02 GT hatch coils on GLS struts
Tib bar
04 Sonata 16" wheels/ 205/55R16 Michelin Pilot sport.

Has the EXACT same ride height as stock but has a better feel on the onramps and at speed (even into triple digit speed).

I did this for the ability to actually carry 4 full size adults w/out bottoming the car out and ended up with a better feel PLUS the ability to carry people.

GT Coils and Struts are the same as GLS Coils and Struts. The part numbers stamped onto them is the same.

GLS hatch yes. GLS sedan no. The rear coils have a full extra coil in the rear and a litle thicker diameter in the front. Struts are the same for all models. COILS are not. Trust me on this one. I'll try to find a comparison pic for those . . . .

Ok I'm only speaking from personal experience. My brother and I both installed SpringTech Springs on our cars on the same day. I have the '04 GLS Sedan, and he has an '04 GT Sedan. He was told at the dealership when he bought the car that his suspension was stiffer than mine. I told him the only difference was in the swaybars. He did not believe me, until we both had our stock coils/struts removed from both vehicles and laying side-by-side. Perfectly identical in every way, including the numbers stamped on them. I dunno...maybe in 01-03 MDY they were different, but I know for sure that the 04 and up are the same.

Sorry to ramble. I'll edit this post tomorrow when I take some measurements.

SpringTech Springs
OEM Struts
Tiburon GT Rear Swaybar

Yes, the STRUTS are the same. The SPRINGS are not. Springs are denoted by a paint mark. GT's are green and GLS is yellow (?). You can CLEARLY tell they are NOT the same. the HATCH (read:Not sedan) uses different springs.

Why is this so difficult? I'm only trying to help.
