Have been looking at wheels at craigslist, and nothing that is 4x114 15"-17" and under $800 is really floating my boat.

I have been on Stanceworks creeping around, and it was suggested that I widen my GT wheels if I love them so much, just give them a larger lip.

I never got the answer on how to widen a wheel, and all threads on other forums seem to be too old with dead links and minimal info.

So...

How do you do it? I want to be able to stretch something on there, and the current option for 15x6"s to stretch are some really thin potenzas.

cut it in half, weld in an extension, weld it back together. Takes some serious skill to 1 - weld aluminum strong enough for wheel duty. 2 - do it well enough/safe enough.

seen it done with steel wheels way more often than alloy. keep in mind also that without some wonky camber/modified suspension, you cant go very low on the offset.
