Im not a huge fan of the stock or kdm pedal sets, are there any alternatives?
and when i ask i guess i mean, are they any easy alternatives hehe

i did a search and saw you can do a tibby conversion, but it looked like a pita.
So if anyone knows of anything post it up

Tibby pedals are anything but a PITA. I have them on my car, took about 5 minutes for all three.

They come as covers, just like the rubber covers, but with the metal and rubber surface. Take off the old ones, slip those on, they grip good and they install easy.

^ thats what i heard, somethin about you cant just plop on a cover you kind of have to take the pedal out and get a tib mount. that accurate?

should probably note that i have the manual so i have the triple pedal set

hmm, maybe in just on crack cause i did the same search and i cant find what i read before..
maybe i will look into the tib pedals. the kdm are nice, but just not my style. i do like the addition of the foot rest though, if your going to do it i think that adds quite a bit.

maybe ill look further into tib petals or just some of the others that fit, i hear spectra5s are a nice fit along with some others i read in another thread..

Spectra5 pedals === Tibby pedals; they are exactly the same. The dead pedal in my car came from a Spec5. I got the pedal set too. I have an AT the Spec5 in the salvage yard was MT. So I bought the AT set and gave the MT pedal covers from the Spec5 to someone else.

If you want the pedal, you can get one from a salvage yard; I might be able to find one for you if you want me to look. But after shipping it might be cheaper just to get a new one from the dealer. The followinig information is about a year old, but it probably hasn't changed much:

Part number / Part / MSRP at Dealer
08840-2C000 / Metal Foot Rest (dead pedal) / $17.22
08850-2C010 / Metal Pedal Covers for AT / $14.00
08850-2C000 / Metal Pedal Covers for MT / $17.00
32726-2D000 / Accel Pedal Arm for XD and Tibby / $14.09 (I got this for $5 at a salvage yard)

So for brand new parts from the dealer, you're looking at $45.31 for AT, $48.31 for MT (plus tax) for an XD2.

To do this on an XD, the correct Accel Pedal Arm is on the car already so it's only $31.22 for AT, $34.22 for MT.

These pics show the difference between the XD (bottom) and XD2 (top) pedals:

hey can we get measurements on that dead pedal? i'd like to see if it would fit the new HDs. i got the pedal kit for the HD - the brake and clutch look exactly the same - i had to remove the existing rubber covers to put on the new ones. Took less than a minute each. My gas pedal is not angled like yours - just straight rectangle - it fit over the existing rubber covers. There were notches in the gas pedal for the new pedal covers to fit into - exact fit. The gas took a little longer - but still whole job was done in less than 5 minutes.

NY- your dead pedal is slightly off. The plastic footwell trim fits into the groove on the left side of the pedal. It's a pita to get into there, but makes it look better when it all fits together.

Here's an old picture of mine, so you can see what I mean (kinda - it's not exactly a great pic of the pedals).

if the kdms are that easy, even though there not my cup of tea the more people post pics the more im thinkin they might look good... lol Damn you all screwing with my mind!

The reason behind the design change from XD to XD2 for the pedals is because when the XD pedal is at WOT, the floor mat gets in the way. Thus, that is why the XD2 pedal pivots with that spring. When I get my tibby pedals, I'm going to take a dremel to my XD2 gas pedal and shape it like the XD to make the tib cover fit ! :D

Sometimes I forget that people are newer than I think and they don't know stuff I know.

Tib Pedals = KDM Pedals = Spectra5 Pedals (as Doohickie was saying).

Also like Doohickie said, to make it work right you can get the XD pedal arm.

----

Why do some people act like this is something new? You guys are noobs. (Do not let this line get this post off topic).

The search "tib pedal" gives 65 results.

I payed $37 for both my 3 pedal set and the dead pedal.

Installed them in my work parking lot in about 5 min. All you need is a phillips screwdriver for the dead pedal.

Ugzz, im ganna be in pitt tomorrow if you wanna see them in person.

The easiest way to put on the Hyundai pedals is to spray the rubber backing with WD-40 and then just slip them on.

Of course...be careful to wipe off any lubricant that may run onto the front side of the pedals....

No additional work is required....

Peace,

In what way? I haven't seen them. What do they look like?

Nope; no dead pedal included:
Hyundai part number: 08850-2C000
Includes: 3 Foot Pedals - 1 Brake, 1 Gas, and 1 Clutch
Including shipping they're charging $24.80 for something that is $17.00 MSRP at the dealer.

Tib Pedals = KDM Pedals = Spectra5 Pedals (as Doohickie was saying).
I wasn't sure what KDM was, so I didn't comment on that but... yeah they probably are the same as Tib and Spec5.

I have a set of MOMO's for my pedals, no complaints here. I used to have the TIB set but the MOMO ones are better.
